Heat Watch
For my first blog assignment in this class, I will be discussing the weather changes throughout the Earth, otherwise known as "climate change". Do you believe that it is normal for a February day to be an average of 80 degrees in Chico, California? Maybe if you lived in Florida it would be normal, but an average winter day in February for this region averages between 60-75 degrees through the whole day.
Other regions such as Anaheim, Southern California, should not be averaging 90 degrees in February. Sure, it is Southern California, but the average should never exceed that amount. At most, the temperature should never exceed 80 degrees.
Do not even bring up Alaska. An average Alaskan winter temperature is about 10-30 degrees, with snow or rain. It is next to the North Pole for crying out loud, the farthest state from the equator, and they reported that one day in December and January, that it was only 60 degrees? A spring day for Alaska should be 60 degrees, not in the middle of the freezing winter.
I desire to write about this, because this situation needs to be talked about and future actions and laws that we can implement to save our world. For our future children, our future grandchildren, our future great-grandchildren, and so on and so forth. I do not know about you but I miss the days where I could wear thick, heavy jackets for winter, and not have the air conditioner on full blast throughout the night during the summer. Our winters are becoming warmer and the summertime is very extreme.
Do not only think about us, but pay some attention to our animals as well. The polar bears, our bee community, the penguins, the list can go on and on. Our great-grandchildren will possibly never see the sight of a polar bear or a penguin at our local zoos because they will be extinct. They will know of polar bears as we know about great mammoths, how horrific.
